Freeman Named Top Employer for Women by Forbes

DALLAS, TX — Freeman, the global leader in events, is honored to be ranked #1 in the Forbes Best Employers for Women list in the business services and supplies category and #4 amongst selected companies overall. Freeman has previously been recognized by Forbes as a Best Large Employer and a Best Employer for Women.

The Best Employers for Women were identified through an independent survey of more than 50,000 employees working part or full-time in organizations of 1,000 or more employees, direct recommendations from employees, and indirect recommendations from the wider business community, as well as the diversity among the top executives and board members.

“Ten years ago, Freeman Women’s Development program (FWD) was put into action to promote women as leaders. Today, you can see the direct result of that work when you look at our executive team, our governance committee, and even our board,” said CEO of Freeman Bob Priest-Heck.  “Our values run deep at Freeman and guide everything we do with our team, our partners, and for our customers. This recognition is great validation that doing the right thing is not only good for business but good for the people behind it.”

At Freeman, 50 percent of the leadership team and nearly half of board members are women. Throughout the past year, many women were elevated to noteworthy leadership roles as Carrie Freeman Parsons was named Chair of the Board, Janet Dell was promoted to President & COO, Mickey Wilson was appointed Chief Marketing Officer, and Amy Wynn-Steffek joined as Chief People Officer.  They join Dawnn Repp, Chief Legal and Administrative Officer, and Michelle Johnson, Chief Information Officer, who all serve as leaders on the governance committee for the privately-held company.

“I am so proud of Freeman women — they are smart, tenacious, innovative, and deliver amazing work every day for our customers, many of which join us on the Best Employer for Women list,” said Janet Dell, Freeman President and Chief Operating Officer.

Bob Priest-Heck shared, “Today, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reimagine the future of work by building a community that’s inclusive and supportive of all.”
